What HubSpot subscription does CommercePro require?

Quick Answer: CommercePro was upgraded in September 2026 with new features and a new underlying architecture. From this release, businesses no longer need Content Hub Enterprise to use CommercePro. The minimum requirement is now Content Hub Professional because CommercePro uses HubSpot website modules as the building blocks for your HubSpot-native online store and checkout.

That is a change. Earlier versions of CommercePro did require Content Hub Enterprise, so if you looked at CommercePro previously and ruled it out on that basis, you weren't wrong. The requirement has changed because the product has changed.

And it is an important one. For businesses that didn't otherwise need Enterprise, the HubSpot licence could add significant cost to the overall CommercePro business case. CommercePro 2.0 removes that requirement, opening the platform to businesses running Content Hub Professional and above.

Did CommercePro previously require HubSpot Enterprise?

Yes.

Earlier versions of CommercePro relied on HubSpot functionality that sat within Content Hub Enterprise, particularly around authenticated and private customer experiences. That made Enterprise part of the minimum platform requirement rather than something you chose because your wider HubSpot setup needed it.

For a business already running Enterprise, that wasn't particularly consequential. For one running Professional, or considering HubSpot and CommercePro together, it could materially change the business case.

CommercePro 2.0 removes that dependency.

So what changed?

HubSpot changed, and CommercePro changed with it.

CommercePro 2.0 has been rebuilt around newer HubSpot platform capabilities, including App Objects. That gives CommercePro a better way to handle the commerce data and functionality it needs without relying on Content Hub Enterprise as the foundation underneath it.

The technical change matters because of what it does to the commercial one.

You can now build a serious commerce operation directly around HubSpot without Enterprise being the price of entry.

That's particularly relevant for businesses that want HubSpot to sit at the centre of marketing, sales, service and commerce, but don't have another reason to move their entire HubSpot environment onto Enterprise.

What HubSpot subscription does CommercePro 2.0 require?

The baseline Content Hub requirement for CommercePro 2.0 is now HubSpot Content Hub Professional.

That doesn't mean Content Hub Professional is necessarily the only HubSpot subscription your business will need. The right setup depends on what you're building, which CommercePro functionality you're using and what you want HubSpot to do across the rest of the business.

But the important distinction is simple: CommercePro itself no longer forces the move to Content Hub Enterprise.

You can see the current platform requirements in the requirements section of the CommercePro 2.0 launch page.

Does that mean we shouldn't use HubSpot Enterprise?

Not at all.

If you need Enterprise for the capabilities it gives you elsewhere in HubSpot, use Enterprise. There are plenty of businesses for which it is the right tier.

The difference is that it is now a decision you can make based on what your business actually needs, rather than a prerequisite imposed by CommercePro.

That is exactly how it should be.

What if we're already using CommercePro on Enterprise?

Nothing suddenly needs to change.

CommercePro 2.0 works perfectly well within an Enterprise HubSpot environment. If you're already using Enterprise functionality elsewhere in the business, there is every reason to stay there.

If CommercePro was the primary reason you moved to Enterprise in the first place, however, it may be worth reviewing your wider HubSpot architecture and understanding which Enterprise features you're actually using before your next renewal.

The question isn't "Can we downgrade because CommercePro 2.0 runs on Professional?"

It's "What does our business actually need from HubSpot now?"
